Description
Located 12 miles from Asheville, this charming newly renovated mountain home (Mountain High) borders the Pisgah National Forest, and is easily accessed right off a 2 lane paved road. The gated driveway is lined by tall Hemlocks, Poplars, and wild Rhododendrons, winding up to the house and covered parking. Although tranquil and private, neighbors are close by. The spacious lawn provides plenty of room for the kids to romp and play!
Amenities
With each renovation, the warmth and character of the home, cc. 1952, has been maintained. Hardwood floors, stained glass, stone walls, antiques, a window wall, stone fireplace (gas) are just some of the unique features. The fully equipped kitchen(all new appliances w/ dishwasher) opens conveniently into the dining area where a large oak table looks out on the forest and hills. Comfortable beds are a priority! On one side of the house the master bedroom with a new queen; guest suite with a double and attached room with daybed and trundle. Off the hall between is 1 full bath. A queen hide-a-bed and 2nd bath (with washer/dryer) on the other side makes an ideal family setup.
Outdoor provisions include a deck, flagstone patio, picnic table and gas grill. Across the driveway and down a few steps, the campfire site beckons the fireflies and eager children waiting to play in the creek or roast marshmallows.
Activities & Attractions
Food stores - 10 min., malls, Biltmore House, museums, theaters, shopping, antiques, state parks, horseback riding, fishing, golf all within a 30 min. drive.
There's great hiking - out the door or a short drive (less than 4 mi.) up to the Blue Ridge Parkway!!
Wonderful dining within a ten minute drive at the Pisgah View Ranch (the biggest "best's" breakfast!) and Pisgah Inn! For spectacular views and superb dining visit Pisgah Inn on top of Mt. Pisgah!!
